My name is Curt Painter.
Photography and videography are my passions.
There’s nothing more exciting than capturing a newly engaged couple with photographs that they will treasure forever. Shooting a couple’s entrance at their wedding reception, a father’s first dance with his daughter, and a newly married couple having an incredible time with family and friends on their wedding day is as special for me as it is for them!
A Family Portrait with Mom, Dad, the kids, and sometimes even the dog, is also incredibly special. I also find Seniors Photography one of the most rewarding areas of my work. It’s an incredible experience meeting these fine young people and I often wonder where they’ll be in 10, 15, or 20 years.
I started my career in videography right out of high-school. I worked in the family business and became one of the most popular wedding videographers in the Pittsburgh area. Certainly there was a tremendous amount of skill, and we always had the most advanced, state-of-the-art video equipment, but frankly, I just loved shooting video.
Most of my early work was wedding videography and from time to time I still shoot wedding videos for couples in the Pittsburgh area.
But then, fate changed everything…
I found myself with the opportunity to work with a Master Photographer, his name was Jerry Interval, and it was a life changing experience.
I worked alongside Jerry and soaked up everything he had to offer. If you’ve ever met a Master Photographer, you probably understand the incredible depth of experience and talent they have! I felt like a sponge and tried to soak up every little detail – and I did. I’m incredibly grateful for that experience.
At the same time, I wanted to even further expand my knowledge. I was shooing weddings on weekends with Jerry and then attending photography workshops and conferences during the week – all in an effort to master my photography work.
I then joined and became a member of the Triangle Professional Photographers association (TPP) as well as the Professional Photographers of America. These are two of the most respected photography associations in the country.
Today, the majority of my work is wedding photography, seniors photography, and family photography. I also have a full-service photography studio in the Pittsburgh marketplace.
